Our Multicultural Roundtable

The Kingston Multicultural Roundtable (MCRT) originated from a collaborative project between several local Ethnocultural associations, Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA), and the Kingston Immigration Partnership (KIP), who together successfully organized the Kingston Multicultural Arts Festival in 2010. Ongoing conversations between these partners lead to the idea of creating a permanent Multicultural Roundtable for organizing future events and strengthening ties between Ethnocultural associations and the Kingston community. At the time of KIP's inception, the Multicultural Roundtable was created in partnership with leadership from eight Ethnocultural Associations.

These founding associations were:

  • The Kingston African-Caribbean Collective (KACC) / The Afro-Caribe Foundation
  • Centre Culturel Frontenac (CCF)
  • The Chinese Cultural Association of Kingston and District (CCKD)
  • The India Canada Association of Kingston (ICA)
  • The Islamic Society of Kingston (ISK)
  • The Kingston Latino Association¬†
  • The Pakistan Canada Association of Kingston (PCA)
  • Samahang Filipino-Canadian Ng Kingston¬†

Member organizations have since introduced other associations in Kingston to join the MCRT and KIP's collaboration has consistently grown to represent 22+ associations or groups of volunteers representing various eccentricities.
