KIP, in partnership with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, will be hosting a Human Library on Saturday, November 24 12:00 - 4:30pm at the Isabel Turner library branch.
Through the Kingston Includes You survey, Kingstonians expressed a need to learn from local residents about discriminatory and racist experiences and how they affect our community. The goal of the Human Library is to create empathy and increase our sense of community by providing those in attendance with the opportunity to meet someone whom they would otherwise not know; to challenge stigma, stereotypes and prejudices through a non-confrontational and friendly conversation.
The Human Library is part of the #SayHello campaign.
For more information and to book a 20-minute conversation with the human books, contact Cristian Medina, Project Coordinator at cristianm@kchc.ca
