Annual Agenda

Priorities

In the Agenda, the KIP Council will identify strategies from the Strategic Action Plan which are priorities for that year. For each priority strategy, the Council will set indicators of success, as well as identify community partners and supports.

Outreach

Specific outreach actions are noticeable throughout the Strategic Action Plan. What’s more, leading community engagement and education on immigration and diversity issues is a fundamental goal of the KIP Council. Therefore, the Council will set out specific community outreach priorities as part of the annual Agenda.

Research

As part of the agenda, Council may direct KIP staff to conduct research on various topics, such as the experiences and challenges that a specific group of newcomers face, strategies for addressing a particular need, or the impact of broader immigration trends and policies on Kingston. This information will assist the Council in future planning and evaluation of its work. Staff may also be asked to study the feasibility of strategies or innovations from the Strategic Action Plan, to inform the selection of strategies in subsequent agendas.
