What is happening at the Kingston Immigration Partnership in June:
Thursday – June 7th 6-8 pm 3rd Multicultural Roundtable dinner
The Chinese Canadian Association will host the 3rd Kingston Multicultural Roundtable event. This (invitation only) event will be held Thursday. June7th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Kingston Chinese Alliance Church.
Approximately 10 ethno cultural groups are sending representatives to the dinner. The goal of this session is to continue building ties amongst the cultural communities of Kingston. Throughout this session we would like to focus on the promotion and digital presence of cultural communities in Kingston through websites, directories and social media. In addition, we are thrilled to launch our multilingual Kingston promotional videos during this event as well.

Tuesday – June 12th 6.00-8.00 pm KIP Women’s Network (Calvin Park Library) Topic: ‘Making Connections’
During the first part of the meeting Rebecca Darling will speak about making connections in a new community. Rebecca works for the Entrepreneurship Centre as business advisor, was co-founder of the Networking group ‘Kingston Connections’ and before moving to Canada from the States had an impressive career in Marketing. In her presentation she will combine her personal story with useful advice in making connections in the Kingston community.
The second part of the evening will be an activity for all participants. We are asked to give advice on the use and purpose of public space in Kingston (a place to make new connections!). Emily Munroe, Director at 8-80 Cities will facilitate this session, our input will be part of a City of Kingston project (see more info here: http://www.cityofkingston.ca/residents/recreation/parks/breakwater/)
Between 7.30 and 8.00 we will have time to ‘mix and mingle’

The KIP business Network is for all aspiring, new and established entrepreneurs who immigrated to Canada. The KIP business network will provide an opportunity for immigrant entrepreneurs and business people to meet, network and share their experiences and insights. Meetings will be held every 4th Tuesday of the month in the KEDCO board room at Innovation Park .
